NEW BUILD – PROGRESS UPDATE
Last Sunday at 12 noon we held an information session on progress with our New Build. We talked about the:
- Vision for the project.
- Project timeline.
- Soft play/café and counselling activities.
- Cost estimates and funding.
We are currently awaiting tenders from builders who will work with us and the architects to develop the detailed design of the buildings.
Fundraising continues in order for us to be able to complete the entire project in one go, with a decision about whether we need to phase the building work being made by November this year depending on the outcome of our fundraising efforts.
We expect to see some site preparation work occurring around the end of this year with building work starting in earnest early in 2021. It is exciting to see this project and the amazing opportunities it creates to connect into our Community becoming real. There will be further progress updates in the Newsletter and once a month we’ll set up a building information table in the Gathering Area after each service so you can ask questions and get more information about where the project is up to.
Please keep this project in your prayers, for funding, selecting the right building contractor and for finding the right hospitality partner for the cafe.
PARISH DINNER – SATURDAY 1 AUGUST
For those attending the Parish Dinner, your table Host will be in contact this week (if not already) with more details on the evening.
We need some volunteers to help set up the tables and chairs for dinner on Saturday, 1 August. If you can assist please contact Heidi in the church office.
If you would like to attend the dinner, and have not yet signed up, please contact Heidi.
A few parishioners have recently had their KAC giving receipts rejected by IRD. If this has affected you, please contact Heidi in the office and she will provide you with a replacement receipt printed on KAC letterhead.
LIBRARY TEAM REQUIRED
We require a few dedicated people to join our library team to assist with the stacking of books in the Parish Office Library.
If you are interested, please contact Heidi email@example.com
Interested in Purchasing a Pew?
At our AGM the Parish decided to relocate and sell the pews currently stored on our grounds. The ways of doing this included offering them to Parishioners for purchase.
The grass has been growing under the pews for long enough so we have moved quickly and are now working with a furniture maker to assess how to best realise the value the pews represent and expect in a few weeks to be able to advise indicative pricing, options for customisation and have some sample pews for presentation to Parishioners and the wider market.
It is encouraging that the furniture maker reinforced the scarcity and high value of the pews.
If you are interested in purchasing a pew, please register your interest by emailing Heidi in the church Office firstname.lastname@example.org
That way we can keep you informed of progress, options and pricing.
