40hr Famine  – Seeking a Coordinator for KAC effort in 2020

World Vision needs our help now more than ever.  The impact of COVID-19 on poor nations will be devastating, supporting the 40hr famine is one way we can make a difference beyond NZ borders. We are looking for someone to take on the coordination role for our famine efforts this year.  If you think you can help or just want to know more please get in touch with Kate kate@karorianglican.org.nz Famine weekend is Friday 5-7  June – its fast approaching so the time for us to set wheels in motion is now 😉

Food Bank Support

We are one of the five churches that run the Karori Foodbank providing emergency food parcels.  During this isolation phase Karori Foodbank is closed, but is working alongside the Wellington City Mission to continue to provide emergency food parcels to the Karori community.  To support this essential service in our community please click here https://wellingtoncitymission.org.nz/donate-now/ to donate to Wellington City Mission.

Pastoral Support

If you would like personal support during this time, click here to get in touch with Wendy Davidson . She will ensure you receive ongoing pastoral support.  We have a team of people who are trained in Pastoral Counseling who can be in contact with you online or by phone to support you. If You Have Prayer Needs

If you have any individual prayer requests, we have a team of intercessors who would love to pray for you.  We also have people available to talk and pray with you, by phone or online, about your prayer concerns.  In either case, please contact kathleen@karorianglican.org.nz.

Stay Connected
Can we remind your that there are many ways you are able to stay connected with our Church whānau during this time of lock down.  Each week on our website www.karorianglican.org.nz there will be a video update from Vicar Ian Cook.

Online Services – join us online for a service at 10 am every Sunday, led by our Diocese. To take part in the service go to Movement Online http://movementonline.org.nz.

House Churches – join one of our House Churches (small groups) who meet weekly online. Email  kate@karorianglican.org.nz and she will be in touch to find the right group for you.

Youth Groups – Our Youth Ministry – The Collective – has small groups you can join, as well as hanging out together online on Friday Night at 7.30 pm. Email zac@karorianglican.org.nz who will get in touch and ensure you are connected.  It’s easy to hang out online!

Kids Programmes – our GodZone kids programmes, JAM, Impact and Crossfire, continue to operate online on Sunday morning. Spend time catching up with each other online then enjoy exploring an online teaching programme. Email kate@karorianglican.org.nz to join GodZone live.

Giving

We realise for some of you that the lockdown has caused a change in your circumstances and you might not be able to continue with your giving at your same level at this time. Thank you to those of you who are able to continue with your donations, they are very important so that we can continue to serve the Parish. If you previously were giving by the envelope system can we  please encourage you to use the automatic online payment system. If you need assistance on how to set this up online,  please call Heidi ph 476 8978, and she would be pleased to work with you to set that up.

Giving Receipts

Giving Receipts for the period 1 April 2019 – 31 March 2020 were emailed to parishioners on Monday this week.  In the email you will find a link which gives you the ability to download your Receipt for filing purposes. If, for some reason, you have not yet received your Receipt, or if you have any questions regarding your Receipt, please contact Heidi on 04 476 8978.
