This Monday 19th May 7pm at Te Korōria

We will be holding a SGM at 7pm 19th May at Te Korōria in order to vote on spending funds on the Early Childhood property improvement work, Electing a People’s Warden and Parish Trust Board Trustees as well as feeding back on next steps with the Vicarage Land Options.

Attached to this newsletter are two documents to read prior to the meeting. The first sets out our context for our decision making, and how it relates to the Churches vision and strategic values. The second is information specific to the vote on the EC centre.

If you would like to be part of the decision making (by voting) you will need to be on the electoral roll, as well as being present at the meeting (sorry casting votes by proxy isn’t possible). If you would like to go on the electoral roll, please complete the required form and return it to the gathering area table or hand to Ian Cook. (Please note there are some restrictions i.e. you must be baptised, have been an active member of the church for at least 4 months in the last 2 years, and not be on the electoral roll at another parish)

To date we have had one nomination for People’s Warden: Natalie Snaddon – her bio is included below

“I have been a member of our congregation since 2006.  Wife to Scott, Mum to Sophie and Tom, and Nana to Millie and Oscar, I also have several work roles: researcher in chronic pain at Otago University, Wellington; Facilitator/Educator with the Pain Services at both Wellington and Dunedin Hospital and co-chair of the Lived Experience Advisory Panel to the NZ Pain Society.  I’m also an Interior Designer with Sunday Interiors – the design team behind the interiors of Te Kororia. I am great at forming connections with and between people.  I have relationships with people across our congregations, adores people and I’m gifted at hospitality.  I would bring these strengths together with my extensive experience working with groups to the role of Peoples Warden.”

To date we have had one nomination for Parish Trust Board: Lee-Ann Du Toit

The date has been decided! We will have our Parish Dinner on the 2nd of August. Stay tuned for a new twist.

Pray for 5 – Who Are You Praying For?

From April 6th till May 27th, we will have a focus on praying for 5 people to come to know Jesus. Choose 5 strands from the table in the gathering area and weave them together into a wrist band to remind you to pray.

Another great tool is the “Inner Room” that you can load on your phone – follow this link  – to find out more and download the app.

The Inner Room is a free prayer list app that turns your mobile phone into a place of prayer.  You can add reminders and a list of people to pray for throughout the day

Prayer Walking

The Holy Ground app is lighting up with stories of streets prayed over, homes blessed, and corners claimed in Jesus’ name. We’ve seen prayers for healing, hope, safety, restoration, and for God’s love to be known in every nook and cranny of our cities.

Inspired by the vision of Thy Kingdom Come, the global prayer movement, this initiative seeks to spiritually re-map our cities—transforming streets, homes, businesses, and public spaces into places of divine encounter. From Easter Sunday to Pentecost, we are dedicating this time to walk our streets in prayer.

We see this as a potential missional opportunity for our House Churches to pick up. If you feel led to please click here to download Holy Here
