Our Story

We are a church that embraces God’s Word and Spirit, practises generous hospitality and partners with our community as we live out our faith.

Our vision is to be a faithful Christian whanau restoring wholeness and hope as we serve and strengthen our community of Karori and Makara.

Serving Our Community

St Mary’s Early Childhood Education Centre provides full-day early childhood education and care, along with cooked meals, for children aged between six months and 5 years. The Centre has a mixed-age range playing together, which we find benefits both younger and older children.  A caring and sharing atmosphere is encouraged, with Christian values.

The SMASH Club offers after school care, holiday programmes & breakfast clubs for kids aged 5-14 years old.  These programmes help provide opportunities to develop the physical, social, emotional, cultural and creative potential of the children and is an integral part of the ministry of St Mary’s Anglican Church.

House Churches & Small Group Discipleship

Growing together and thriving together is our goal and house churches or small discipleship groups are our main vehicle for doing this.  At Karori Anglican we encourage everyone to form (or join) house churches with others from our parish and in the local community.  At the moment, that means using online tools like phone trees, Zoom or other video calling platforms.  This gives us a space for both worship and going deeper together in discipleship with others.

You can find resources on House Churches and Small Discipleship Groups here
